Rodgers looking to cure Red Imps woes with shock move for forgotten Nottingham Forest man

The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern still rubbing their Scottish Premiership win in front of the Rangers crowd have been handed further good news.

According to reports from Scotsman.com, the Bhoys are targeting a shock move for Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk this summer.

The Hoops, fresh off of their embarrassing 1-0 defeat to the Lincoln Red Imps in the Champions league second qualifying round may feel they need more power going forward.

The 24-year old hasn’t had much luck in at the City Ground so far scoring no goals in only 11 appearances since his transfer to Forest from Excelsior in 2014.

However, a loan last season to PEC Zwolle saw him grab 14 goals in 35 games, not his best tally in a season by any stretch but new manager Brendan Rogers has worked with excellent strikers before and might think the Dutchman has more to prove.

Veldwijk would become the third signing of Rogers’ time at Celtic, following Moussa Dembele from Fulham and most recently, teenage forward PJ Crossan to Celtic Park.

What do you think Celtic fans? Would you take Veldwijk in your team? Let us know down below…
