Rodgers looks to Premier League for potential Patrick Roberts replacement

Though Rangers’ last-minute equaliser yesterday in the Old Firm was a source of frustration for the Celtic fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, there’s little doubting this season has been one of the most exciting in recent memory.

The Bhoys have looked completely revitalised under Brendan Rodgers’ watch, with the likes of Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele proving wonderful signings at Parkhead. So, reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting they were lining up another ambitious move have obviously gone down a storm.

They claim those behind the scenes in Glasgow are considering a swoop on Premier League giants Arsenal for their exciting youngster Chris Willock as a potential replacement for Patrick Roberts. The latter is due to return to parent club Manchester City at the end of the season when his loan deal expires and the Scottish champions are understood to earmarked the teenager as a target.

First-team football could reportedly be the bait Celtic use when trying to lure him north of the border and the fans in the bar are hopeful he will prove as successful as other Rodgers signings.

Who should replace Roberts at Celtic? Let us know below…
