As the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern try and recapture their breath after a pulsating European night at Parkhead, many of them remain speechless.
After a 7-0 thumping at the hands of Barcelona, Brendan Rodgers’ side proved they are no Champions League cannon fodder by holding Premier League pace-setters Manchester City to a stunning 3-3 draw.
The Hoops look a world away from the stagnating side that stumbled to the SPFL title under Ronny Deila, introducing fluid attacking play and a breakneck speed not seen at Celtic Park in a number of years.
Though clear favourites for the domestic title, Rodgers has proved he has the means at his disposal to at least spring a surprise in European competition.
In order to do so, he’ll have to rely heavily on the players who produced last night across what could be a famous continental campaign for the former Liverpool boss.
