Ahead of their Scottish Cup meeting with Albion Rovers this weekend, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are at their happiest in years as Brendan Rodgers continues to impress in Paradise.
Hopeful of a run in the cup, the Bhoys in the bar have seen their moods lifted even further following reports from the Glasgow Evening Times today. They’ve revealed the Hoops are close to agreeing a new deal with defender Mikael Lustig, who is expected to pen a new deal with the SPFL champions.
The Swede is due to see his deal at Parkhead run out at the end of this season, though has been a mainstay in their defence this term and is thought to have gone through long-term negotiations in regards to an extension. The report claims there looks like being a positive outcome to those talks, much to the delight of the punters propping up the bar.
Since joining from Rosenburg, the Swedish international has won four league titles in a row, as well as the Scottish Cup once and the League Cup twice during a trophy-laden stint in Glasgow.
