Rodgers reportedly ‘convinced’ on midfielder with Celtic exits thought to be likely

With the Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping for a busy January window ahead of their crunch tie in the Europa League against Zenit next month, some interesting transfer news has emerged for the Bhoys propping up our.

The Hoops are reportedly closing in on a move for St Mirren star Lewis Morgan, though it could perhaps be a case of one in and one out at Parkhead this month. Indeed, according to the Daily Record, Brendan Rodgers has hinted that one of his players could be heading out on loan.

Having joined Celtic just under a year ago, Eboue Kouassi has struggled to break into the first-team. The 20-year-old has a lot of competition in central midfield berths in Paradise and, while Rodgers is understood to be ‘convinced’ the £3m star will come good, could head out on loan.

Indeed, as stated by the Record, he’s not thought to be the only likely departure and our punters clad in green and white would be interested to see how Kouassi develops.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Kouassi certainly has the physical traits in which to develop. However, he needs a run of games in order to get into full flow and a short-term departure would be hugely beneficial. Much like Kristoffer Ajer at Kilmarnock last season, a short-term loan move away could be the defining moment in his fledgeling career.
