Sandro Ramirez should be an ambitious target for Celtic

Unlike Premier League sides, Celtic have until the end of August to finalise their transfer dealings.

The English transfer window slammed shut on Thursday after clubs voted to end the window before the season starts. Scottish sides have the old deadline of August 31st to complete their transfer deals. Celtic have been quiet in the window so far, but there is plenty of time to improve their squad.

Brendan Rodgers has made just three signings so far this summer, with Odsonne Eduoard completing a permanent transfer from PSG. He was joined at Celtic Park by Scott Bain who signed from Dundee on a free as well as a deal to bring Emilio Izaguirre back to the club from Al-Feiha.

One man Rodgers should try to sign is Everton outcast – Sandro Ramirez. Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, the Spaniard joined the Toffees from Malaga last summer following an excellent season in La Liga. His first season in the Premier League did not go to plan, and he was loaned to Sevilla in January. He started just seven games after moving back to Spain but failed to find the back of the net.

Everton still want to send the striker out on loan, according to reports, and Celtic could be the perfect destination. During his time with Malaga, the former Barcelona forward netted 14 goals and picked up three assists in 32 appearances. His finishing was excellent, but he was unable to replicate his form on Merseyside.

Still only 23-years-old, there is plenty of time for Sandro to get his career back on track. Working under Rodgers could be the catalyst for his revival.
