Celtic fans have been as boisterous as ever this season in the Transfer Tavern, with the Hoops enjoying a stellar campaign under Brendan Rodgers and playing some of the best football they have in years on their way to what looks like another Premiership crown.
However, one recent disappointment that a few Bhoys have been talking about is a failed winter move for Henry Onyekuru.
The Glasgow giants saw a £1m offer for the player rebuffed by Belgian side Eupen, but the 19-year-old Nigerian has already spoken out suggesting that he will be “allowed” to move on in the summer and the Daily Record have even reported that he’s hopeful of making a transfer to Rodgers’ Celtic after going AWOL when not granted permission to do so in January.
However, reports from the Daily Mail have somewhat deflated fans of the Scottish giants, with news that Chelsea and Arsenal are paying close attention to him particularly worrying.
It’s understood that the two London sides are keeping tabs on the teenager, who has netted 12 goals from his wide position this season in Belgium.
Although he may not be quite ready to represent clubs of the Premier League sides’ standings, Celtic fans may be further discouraged by Onyekuru’s previous confession that he wants to play for Arsenal.
