Two-year deal lined up as Celtic prepare for January move

Though Celtic don’t have a game for until late January now, you’ll often find the fans in the Transfer Tavern celebrating the nature of their champagne campaign under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers.

While often joked about by the Liverpool supporters propping up the bar towards the end of his Anfield reign, the Northern Irishman has completely revitalised a Bhoys side who had previously looked to be merely going through the motions.

He’s constructing an exciting rebuild at Parkhead and seems to be bringing through a vibrant new side, with previous stalwarts being cast aside. One of those in particular is Efe Ambrose, who has been a popular player in green and white over the years.

Still, there’s a feeling the Nigerian is simply more hassle than he’s worth amongst our punters following a series of mistakes, so there’s little surprise for them to read reports from Sky Sports.

They’ve claimed French side Bastia have offered the 28-year-old a move away from Glasgow after he fell down the pecking order, having not played since July. I Turchini are understood to be keen on luring him over to Ligue 1 as they battle relegation from France’s top tier.

Ambrose is also thought to have had offers from China and is widely expected to leave Celtic this month, much to the delight of some of the fans in the bar today.
