Very promising transfer report for Celtic fans as Rodgers makes scout request

With one foot in the Champions League proper already, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are in what appears to be constant celebration.

Indeed, though the Hoops’ start to this campaign hasn’t always been the most convincing, the Bhoys in the bar are absolutely delighted about the fact they’re close to another real European adventure.

With that in mind, reports from the Scottish Sun have only furthered their excitement. They claim Brendan Rodgers wants to sign another striker AS WELL as landing Patrick Roberts on loan again.

Rodgers is understood to have told scouts to find him a new marksman to compete with the likes of Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele this season, with both of his current forward prone to slight injuries.

Having seen just what the side looks like without a striker in the home tie against Rosenborg last month, our punters here clad in green and white are delighted about this reported transfer decision.

Roberts, meanwhile, is thought to be close to joining the Glasgow giants on loan from Manchester City again, much to the delight of our resident Celtic fans.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Roberts is going to be a huge addition. Having thrilled so much last year, the idea of watching him improve with the club again is a seriously exciting one, and a new forward really would give Rodgers a new attacking dimension for this new campaign.
