It’s hard to blame the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern for feeling pretty invincible, following their wonderful campaign last time out.
Unbeaten in domestic competition last term, the Bhoys in the bar were looking ahead to what could hopefully be a second clean sweep on the bounce, as well as hopefully a longer adventure in the Champions League.
Still, their optimism has taken a hit of late. According to the Scottish Sun, star man Moussa Dembele is open to a move away from Glasgow, despite the Hoops’ success.
The former Fulham man notched 32 times last season after joining on a free, though Marseille were recently reported to have held talks over a potential move for the 21-year-old. Though the punters in our bar clad in green and white were hoping the club would stand strong, this report isn’t overly promising.
Indeed, Dembele is said to be open to a move back to France. Les Phocéens are thought to want to challenge PSG and Monaco for the Ligue 1 title next season and are reportedly willing to meet a £20m fee for the bulking central forward.
Brendan Rodgers is believed to be aware that he could face a battle to keep his star man, much to the annoyance of our resident Celtic fans.
