Celtic fans here in the Tavern can’t bare to face any more disappointment, as injuries continue to take their toll on the outlook of the Hoops’ season.
Indeed, Brendan Rodgers’ injury fears have been the main talking point for the Bhoys in recent times, as Celtic’s season looks to be heading down a road full of uncertainty. And, it appears that the Hoops’ chances of securing multiple trophies this season have drastically decreased, with the Celtic Park injury crisis claiming its next victim, as according to reports in the Scottish Sun, Nir Bitton has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The versatile Israeli is set to undergo surgery to fix a knee problem that’ll cause for him to spend months out on the sidelines. Indeed, a huge blow for not only for their Europa League clash tonight but for the remainder of the season, as the defender becomes the Hoops’ ninth casualty.
Of course, with their all-important clash against Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg tonight at Celtic Park, news of Bitton’s injury will inflict further damage on Rodgers’ plans for the rest of the season.
Following news of Bitton’s injury this past week, Rodgers came out to give his opinion on the current meltdown in Glasgow:
“Nir Bitton will probably be out for the season which is a blow for us.
“He has an issue with his knee and probably needs an operation and that is probably him for the rest of the season.
“It is a shame for Nir because he has been an important member of our squad.
“We are hoping some of the others will be back sooner rather than later.”
Another huge blow to Celtic’s hopes and aims for this season, as injuries continue to take their toll on Rodgers’ side. And, with their most crucial European encounter of the season coming at the worse possible time, there could be a disaster brewing at Celtic Park.
