Rangers kicked off the new era with Steven Gerrard at the helm with a solid 2-0 victory against FK Shkupi on Thursday evening.
The Light Blues will now travel to Macedonia for the return leg with confidence that they should have enough to book their place in the next round of the Europa League.
Gerrard will have been pleased with the performance from his players, especially considering a number of them were playing in one of their first games for the club and the packed Ibrox crowd would have been happy there were no shocks.
The game, which was shown on BT Sport, had Charlie Adam on as a pundit and revealed that he would not count out a return to Rangers in the future, having started his career with the Light Blues.
"What's the chances of you [@Charlie26Adam] coming back to Rangers?"
"There's always a chance, it's Rangers! But you can never rule it out…"https://t.co/wDYhXhp2KN

“Listen, it’s a situation that I don’t know what is going to happen,” he said.
“I have had a chat with the club at Stoke. We know the situation that we are in.
“We will see and take it from there.
“There’s always an option (for me) – it’s Rangers.
“It’s a big club, I enjoyed my time here when I was young and I had a great time here.
“You can never rule it out. To return to a club like this would be a wonderful option for me.”
The Scotland international has one-year left remaining on his contract with the Potters, so it remains to be seen what happens there first.
Adam has played with Gerrard before, during the pairs time at Anfield with Liverpool, however, the midfield area is beginning to look rather packed.
The new boss has already made a number of signings in that part of the squad and it could mean an Ibrox return for Adam could be unlikely, however, at 32-years-old a move cannot be ruled out just yet.
