Club prepared to accept offer as Rangers’ rebuild under Gerrard continues

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited with what Steven Gerrard has already achieved at the club in regards to transfer signings, however, will be interested in the latest rumours.

The former Liverpool legend is working hard behind-the-scenes already, despite not officially taking charge of the Ibrox outfit until the end of July, and it appears he has been trying to get help from a previous team-mate.

According to sources close to Turkish Football, the Gers are close to completing a deal for Martin Skrtel, with Fenerbahce believed to be ready to accept an offer from the Scottish Premiership side.

The Super Lig side are thought to be in some financial difficulty and would be prepared to accept the £4million bid that has been reported for the 33-year-old.

Landlord’s Verdict

Rangers will be desperate to add defensive recruits with solid experience and Skrtel would definitely be an addition to help with that cause.

The Slovakia international has played at the top level with Liverpool and would help Gerrard to develop a number of the younger talents and turn them into better professionals.

A number of the locals would be pleased should the 33-year-old join them as he would immediately help to make the team better.
