Declan John could join Swansea on loan

Rangers are continuing with their recruitment drive in the transfer window this summer and could be about to see one man depart from Ibrox.

The Light Blues have had a number of new faces come to the club following the appointment of Steven Gerrard, however, they have also seen a number of players leave as he looks to complete an overhaul of his squad.

And, according to a report by The Scottish Sun, Declan John could be the latest man to leave the Scottish outfit, as he has interest from the English Championship.

It is believed that Swansea City are lining up a loan move for the Wales international as it appears that he will be pushed further down the pecking order with the imminent arrival of Borna Barisic.

John, who only signed a permanent deal with the Ibrox outfit in December, now looks as though he could be making a swift return to his homeland, having initially joined from Cardiff City.

The Verdict:

It would be a smart move for John to head to Swansea as he would be within a better chance of getting first-team football.

He would have been a player Rangers would have looked at keeping hold of this summer, however, with the business that Gerrard has been making, it looks as though he could be surplus to requirements.

With the pending arrival of Barisic and Jon Flanagan already at the club, his opportunities are beginning to look even more limited at Ibrox, despite making a number of appearances for the Light Blues last season.
