Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping the club can add a number of players in the summer, although some of the locals will be looking for the team to offload a number of members they do not feel should still be involved.
According to the Daily Mail, director of football Mark Allen is looking at strengthening the side’s defence, however, should he bring in the two central defenders he wants to add, it could make the future of Bruno Alves fall further into doubt.
The Portugal international was expected to leave Ibrox in the winter, however, a move to Italy fell through and he has remained with the Ibrox outfit since. The veteran has had a difficult campaign in fairness, having suffered from a number of injuries, including a hamstring problem that saw him miss their victory against Heart of Midlothian at the weekend, whilst locals have been critical of him this season.
The defender is currently receiving specialist treatment in Madrid to try and help his bid in getting to the World Cup, however, many believe his time in Glasgow is over.
The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be hoping they can offload Alves in the summer, who surely has high wages and will be looking to add a couple of players to their squad from what they receive for him. After a terrible time of things so far in Glasgow, not all too many tears are likely to be shed if he does depart.
