Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been handed a timely boost as Brendan Rodgers prepares for another season in charge of the Parkhead outfit.
The Bhoys will be looking to build upon the past two season’s successes and will want to continue in the same fashion this year, although he will know he will need his players to be at their very best once again.
The Hoops have managed to tie down the likes of Tom Rogic to a new deal, amid interest from south of the border, however, a return from the sidelines will give them an equally huge boost.
According to a report in the Daily Record, Jonny Hayes is set to return for Celtic just as they get their pre-season underway. The 30-year-old had suffered from a broken leg during the second half of the year, however, he has worked hard and is expected to be ready for their opening match with SK Vorwarts Steyr of Austria on June 27.
The Republic of Ireland international will be a big boost to Rodgers’ side as he makes his anticipated return quicker than first expected.
The fans in the Tavern were starting to get glimpses of what he could offer to them following his arrival from Aberdeen, however, the serious injury halted that abruptly and the punters will hope he can hit the ground running once again.
