Rangers fans here in the Tavern will be expecting a couple more signings this summer, with quality lacking in some departments. So, with aims of challenging in Europe next season, the transfer window will be rather important.
The Bluenoses won’t want to experience another season like the last as they struggled to ensure consistency and ended up finishing in third position.
However, Steven Gerrard will be looking to add to his squad even more as the transfer window progresses and could look to sign another defender due to their poor defensive record last season.
Indeed, Bruno Alves was one of the main problems for Rangers in the campaign just gone, with a poor performance never too far away. The Portuguese veteran gave the ball away far too often and struggled to keep up at times, so Gerrard must look to replace him this summer.
With that in mind, Rangers must replace Alves with this World Cup star…
Ahmed Hegazi may be looking for a move away this summer after suffering relegation to the Championship with West Bromwich Albion.
The 27-year-old was named in Egypt’s 23-man squad for the World Cup, so he will be keen to impress as the competition progresses with the whole world looking on.
Indeed, the central defender would be sure to cure any defensive problems that the Bluenoses faced last season. Hegazi is a huge danger from set-pieces and enjoys playing the ball out from the back, so he would fit perfectly into Steven Gerrard’s possession-based side.
