The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their on-loan shot-stopper, Scott Bain has agreed to a four-year deal at Parkhead making his January loan permanent. The man between the sticks has only managed six games for Celtic since his move, keeping three clean-sheets and conceding four goals in that time. You can read more on the signing on the Celtic website.

Scott Bain will become the Hoops’ third permanent goalkeeper and will be doing everything in his power to hold down a spot between the sticks despite having stiff competition from both Craig Gordan and Dorus de Vries. The ageing Dutchman, de Vries, has made ten appearances this season, keeping six clean-sheets and conceding seven goals in his second year at the club. Meanwhile, Gordan has been the club’s first choice and has made 24 appearances and keeping 13 clean sheets, although he’s currently out injured with a knee injury.
The Bhoys propping our bar up are just one win away from securing Scottish football’s first ever double treble. Brendan Rodgers’ side has picked up the first five trophies available to him, completing the treble in his first season and already winning the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Premier League in the current campaign. Scott Bain will be keen to start in the upcoming Scottish Cup final when they face Motherwell at Hampden Park in just over week’s time. The fans will be keen to get the game over with and secure their back-to-back treble, as they continue to increase the gap between themselves and Rangers.

All well and good but does he support The Republican Movement?
