Rangers fans here in the Tavern will be praying that their side can challenge Celtic in the next campaign after letting the Hoops walk all over them this season.
Steven Gerrard will be looking hit the ground running next season, with the summer transfer window being of huge importance to the Bluenoses. Indeed, after a rather sloppy campaign, many of our local residents want to see a number of changes made over the course of the summer, having suffered heartbreak at times this season.
Interestingly, it looks as if the Bluenoses are looking to bring in a striker this summer, as it’s understood that Rangers want to sign Jermain Defoe. The Englishman helped steer his current club Bournemouth away from relegation trouble this season, but he is coming towards to the end of his career.
So, Rangers should save their cash and move for this striker instead…
Louis Moult, who is valued at £675 k (by Transfermarkt), has struggled to enjoy regular first-team football since moving from Motherwell to English Championship side Preston North End back in January.
The 26-year-old bagged an impressive 16 goals in 33 appearances this season, on the back of scoring 18 last season.
His imposing style and clever way of attacking space would put the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Kenny Miller to shame, as he would definitely be able to establish himself as the club’s first-choice striker if he joins this summer.
