Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited with what the future holds for their club and will be hoping comments made by a former player can help attract a new addition.
Steven Gerrard has been busy with his recruitment drive since being named as the new manager at Ibrox, however, he has failed in his attempt to sign Brighton and Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson thus far despite making two bids for his services.
It is believed he will continue to pursue him and Russell Martin has told the 25-year-old he would be joining a “huge” club if he did join the Ibrox outfit.
“I don’t think anything can prepare you for it. It’s huge,” he told the Argus after completing his loan spell with the Gers.
“You’ve got an idea but it’s only when you go up there that you realise how big it is. Just walking around the streets, it’s a giant of a football club with a great fanbase.”
The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be delighted with the comments made by Martin and will be hoping that the club can bring Goldson to Ibrox in light of Martin’s admission.
Many of the local punters will realise that Goldson will have a big decision to make should he be offered the chance to move to Rangers, however, the club will need to meet Brighton’s asking price before they can convince the centre-back to make a transfer this summer.
