Gerrard already turning eyes to Scotsman as Rangers await manager move – Report

Rangers are believed to be edging closer to appointing a new manager and the fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with the news that it could be finally getting sorted.

Graeme Murty has been in temporary charge since Pedro Caixinha left Ibrox seven months ago and has found the last few months becoming a little difficult. The manager appears to have lost control with a number of players in the dressing room and results have been fairly mixed.

Steven Gerrard is widely believed to be in advanced talks to take over and the Daily Mail are reporting that he wants Gary McAllister to join him in his backroom staff. The two played together at Anfield and the Scotsman would be able to offer him a vast amount of experience following his time with the Scotland National team.

The Liverpool legend has had an impressive spell with the Under-18’s since he took over at the beginning of the season, catching the eyes of many, however, he believes the job at Ibrox appeals to him more, as he can pit his wits against his former boss and now Old Firm rival Brendan Rodgers.

Landlord’s Verdict

The locals in the Tavern will be excited by the news that they could be bringing in an exciting duo to the club in Gerrard and McAllister and will be hoping they can give the squad what they need to challenge for silverware next season.
