Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be optimistic about next season’s chances after the club have confirmed a number of signings already this summer.
Steven Gerrard has already started to make his mark on the Ibrox outfit by bringing in the likes of Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor from Burnley and Hull City respectively, however, it seems he is far from finished.
The Liverpool legend is looking to bolster almost every area of the squad this summer as they look to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic and has identified a striker to help add some firepower to the Gers.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Gerrard is targeting Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie and are considered a strong favourite to sign him amid fierce competition, although it has been previously reported to potentially cost them around £4million, according to the Scottish Sun a few days ago.
The Rangers fans in the Tavern would be excited to see the young Scotland international come to Ibrox, a club that he has supported as a boy. The 21-year-old has proven he can find the back of the net on a consistent basis during his loan spell with Barnsley, however, the price-tag could be off-putting for many.
£4m is a lot of money to a club like Rangers and fans will be concerned with how they can get that sort of finance available to fund a deal, meaning Gerrard could have to sell the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Josh Windass to help bring the youngster to Ibrox.
