Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern could be prepared to see one of their main players leave Ibrox this summer despite Steven Gerrard being keen on retaining him.
The new Light Blues manager has been busy in the transfer window making a number of additions to help strengthen his side and is also expected to offload players to trim down his ever-growing squad.
However, one man that could be ready to depart is Josh Windass, with reports from the Daily Express claiming that Cardiff City are ready to meet his £3million release clause. Gerrard has plans for the attacking midfielder next season after an impressive campaign, however, should the Premier League new boys offer his release clause.
The winger, who has not always pleased the locals in the bar with his performances, can sometimes be one of the best in the Scottish Premiership on his day, having scored 18 times in all competitions last term.
Despite not always being a favourite with the residents in the Tavern, there is a general feeling that many of them would be disappointed to see the 24-year-old leave Ibrox this summer.
No one more than Gerrard would be upset to see him leave the Light Blues, as it is believed he has huge plans for him, however, with the release clause thought to be activated, then he would appear powerless to stop him from playing in England’s top-flight.
