Rangers managed to secure a convincing win over Aberdeen last time out, but they did have to wave goodbye to Alfredo Morelos as he was given his marching orders.
The Light Blues will be full of confidence heading into their vital Scottish Cup fifth round tie with Kilmarnock this weekend, with a win keeping their silverware hopes alive.
But, it appears as if the Glasgow side have been focused on a possible summer swoop in recent times, as according to Info Fichajes, Rangers are set to launch a summer swoop for Josip Vukovic.
Josip Vukovic is a highly-rated defensive midfielder who currently plays for Portuguese side Maritimo.
However, the Light Blues will face great difficulties in securing the services of the midfielder as the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Benfica and Villarreal are also interested in signing him.
Of course, Rangers could make a huge statement by landing the Croatian in the summer months, as a number of strong European clubs are after him. It’s clear to see that he’s highly-rated as he continues to attract plenty of attention despite there still being a long way to go until the summer transfer window opens. But, with Rangers less fortunate than the other clubs from a financial standpoint, it will be very difficult for them to lure him to Scotland.
Indeed, the Gers already have a number of midfielders at their disposal but Ross McCrorie is usually the only player deployed in a defensive role, so there’s definitely room for another addition. Vukovic is very strong on the ball and one of his best attributes is his ability to intercept, so he could prove to be a solid option for Gerrard.
