Gerrard hits stumbling block as Rangers rebuild hits snag with valuation problem

Rangers will want to be continuing their recruitment drive this summer as Steven Gerrard takes them forward, however, the fans in the Transfer Tavern may not see one particular man join them this summer.

The Liverpool legend has been busy behind the scenes making sure he can strengthen his side to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic in domestic Scottish football and has made six additions already this summer.

His plans to add more players have not shown any signs of slowing down, however, he could be about to find it difficult to get one deal over the line.

Raman Bhardwaj, who is a journalist for STV, has stated on his personal Twitter account that a deal to take Jason Cummings to Ibrox permanently from Nottingham Forest may not happen due to the two sides being “far apart in their valuations”.

It does appear that should the clubs agree to a fee the deal will be concluded as the player wants the move to happen.

Landlord’s Verdict

The valuation problem is something that Rangers have faced during the transfer window so far this summer, however, they have still managed to get the targets they have had without too many problems, which will leave the locals in the bar feeling confident a deal can happen.

Cummings made 18 appearances for the Light Blues last season whilst on loan for the latter part of the year from Forest and scored six times, which appears to have done enough to convince Gerrard to bring him to Ibrox permanently.
