Gerrard makes bid for Millwall’s Jake Cooper

Rangers have been extremely active during the transfer window this summer as Steven Gerrard looks to give his new side a complete makeover as he prepares for life in the dugout at Ibrox.

The Liverpool legend has already been making huge decisions about what he wants whilst at the Light Blues and is determined to bring success back to the blue half of Glasgow.

So far, he has added nine new players to his team, however, it appears that he is not convinced that he has the squad just yet, as reports are suggesting that he is still in the market for another defender.

The Daily Record are claiming Gerrard is keen on Millwall’s Jake Cooper and it is believed that a bid of £3million was made to the south London outfit.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding for the Lions since his switch from Reading and it is no surprise that the Light Blues have taken note.

The Verdict:

Rangers have already been adding to their backline with the likes of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, however, with Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso expected to follow David Bates out of the door, Gerrard is keen on adding more new faces.

Cooper, who has represented England at the Under-20 level, is highly thought off and Millwall will not be prepared to let him go without a fight, however, he could help to add to the Light Blue’s backline immediately.
