Rangers have already drafted in a couple of players and secured a couple of pre-contract agreements, which has automatically boosted their title pursuit.
The Bluenoses will fancy themselves in the race for the Scottish Premiership title, having secured two experienced players in the form of Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe.
Interestingly, Rangers will travel to the Central Park Stadium to face Cowdenbeath in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup tonight. The Miners currently find themselves sitting in mid-table in League Two, so Steven Gerrard may look to give a couple of the club’s aspiring players a chance.
With that in mind, Gerrard can rely on these TWO outcasts to make a name for themselves today…
Glenn Middleton has struggled to enjoy regular minutes under Steven Gerrard in the current campaign as he continues to be used as a substitute at times.
The youngster has a bright future ahead of him and will no doubt go on to achieve big things at Ibrox, with today’s game against Cowdenbeath providing him with the opportunity to bag a few goals to help build up the hype.
Rangers already have the likes of Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Scott McCrorie operating in the middle of midfield, so it has been difficult for Lassana Coulibaly to work his way into Gerrard’s plans. And, with Steven Davis joining the club recently, it will now be even harder for him to enjoy regular minutes.
Therefore, today’s game is the perfect opportunity for him to stake a claim by putting in a dominant performance.
