Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with the work that Steven Gerrard has already done with their side regarding the transfer window.
The Light Blues boss has been busy recruiting this summer, having already secured a number of signings to strengthen his side, however, it is believed he is far from done. The former Liverpool star will want to compete against his old manager Brendan Rodgers and Old Firm rivals Celtic and he will need to add reinforcements.
The defensive area is a concern for the Ibrox outfit and it appears Gerrard has turned his attention to it and is considering a move for a former player, according to reports. The Scottish Sun are claiming he will try and hijack the attempts from Leeds United to bring Kyle Bartley from Swansea City back across the border.
The locals in the Tavern will feel Bartley would be a great signing should he rejoin the club, having enjoyed 18-months on loan from Arsenal in his early playing days.
Having enjoyed time at top-level clubs since he left, he will have gained some invaluable experience and the 26-year-old should just be able to go from strength-to-strength.
If the club can get him for around £2.5m, then it would definitely be considered a great deal by a number of the punters in the bar.
