Gerrard reveals how he is feeling about the future of Rangers’ youth

Steven Gerrard has started life in the fast-lane as the new Rangers boss and the fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with what he has been able to achieve so far.

The new Ibrox chief has already managed to make seven signings this summer, with a few more expected to join the Light Blues and he has already taken them on a training camp in the south of Spain.

The squad travelled to Andalusia for ten days to work together and give Gerrard an idea of where his squad is at and where he may need to make any possible changes before the competitive season gets underway.

However, it appears he has been more impressed with the youngsters from the academy that he invited to join them, telling the club’s official website that he was excited about their futures.

Matty Shiels, Serge Atakayi, Aidan Wilson, Glenn Middleton, Zak Rudden and Stephen Kelly all joined up with the first-team for the trip.

“They have been fantastic. They have been professional, they have given everything they have got and I am really excited by a few of them too,” he told the club’s official website.

“I think some of them will have a part to play in the short, medium and long-term, but in terms of all of them, we are delighted with what they have given.”

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be encouraged by the comments made from Gerrard about their youth prospects and will be eager to see how well they play if they do get the chance to make an impression for the senior side during the campaign.
