Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to life under Steven Gerrard as he looks to make his mark on the club at Ibrox.
The Liverpool star has been busy with his recruitment drive since arriving at the Glasgow outfit, making a number of additions to ensure they can challenge for honours next season.
However, it appears that he has hit a stumbling block in regards to one of his main targets this summer, with reports stating that a move to Ibrox is not something of interest.
The Turkish outfit are desperate to get rid of him because of the financial constraints and because of his age and are hoping bids from China or the Middle East could arrive.
The locals in the bar will be pleased that they are not forking out to bring him to the club as they will need to spend on other targets as well, but will be disappointed they have not been able to lure a man of his talent to Ibrox as they look to fill the void left at centre-back.
He would have been a good, experienced hand under Gerrard, not to mention the relationship that the pair have from their time at Anfield could have had an impact.
That said, financials are the bottom line, and this one clearly isn’t looking like it will be good for the books.
