Rangers will be hoping to climb above the likes of Livingston, Kilmarnock and rivals Celtic in the SPL table when they take on Hamilton at the SuperSeal stadium on Sunday.
And one player who will be desperate to be given the nod by manager Steven Gerrard for the game is Eros Grezda, though any potential inclusion would have ramifications for one of the Gers other wingers.
Grezda has only made two substitute appearances so far this season, but has revealed Gerrard is prepared to give him more minutes now that he is close to returning to full fitness.
“I talked to Gerrard before I came and he told me that, if you’re ready, then we’ll decide if I’m ready to start from the first minute,” Grezda was quoted saying on the Daily Record.
“It’s been difficult as the other [Rangers] players had developed through the pre-season stage, while I only signed up in the end [of transfer window]. Gerrard told me that when I was ready, he would give me minutes.
“It’s normal that I’m not in my best shape. It was my first 90 minutes after six months and it was difficult for me to find space because they covered me.”
More game time for Grezda, however, could see someone such as Daniel Candeias ousted out of the starting XI at the expense of the Albania international’s introduction.
Candeias has impressed since arriving at Ibrox from Benfica last summer, but may need to give way so Grezda can be afforded more minutes.
