Rangers fans here in the Tavern are pleased with life under Graeme Murty, with the Bluenoses progressing to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup after yesterday’s win.
Rangers have been in incredible form of late as the Scottish Premier League’s form side, but a different challenge faced the Bluenoses at the weekend with the return of the Scottish Cup. Indeed, Rangers welcomed Championship side Falkirk to Ibrox in yesterday’s game, that saw four goals from Jason Cummings book the Gers a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
However, the fine performance produced by Cummings was overshadowed by the sheer disgust of many of our local residents, as Portuguese veteran Bruno Alves was in the firing line after his lackluster defensive display. The 36-year-old had a rocky game at the heart of the Rangers defence and looked like a player who hadn’t played since December, with plenty of stick heading his way on Twitter.
Indeed, this is the last thing that the Gers wanted heading into their all-important Old Firm clash at the weekend, with bad vibes potentially blowing any outside chance of challenging for the title. But, fans were adamant that this was the last they wanted to see of the defender, as a negative response can be seen right the way across social media.
Nevertheless, here’s exactly what was said by supporters…
Bruno alves wouldn’t get a game at Brunswick
