The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their 20-year-old Norwegian defender, Kristoffer Ajer has signed a new four-year contract with the club, just two years after signing from IK Start in summer 2016. The big defender spent last season on-loan at Kilmarnock but has come into his own this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops.

The Bhoys propping our bar up will be delighted with their latest coup in signing the youngster who has bags of potential as they look to continue their domestic dominance into a third season under Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irish manager is one win in the Scottish Cup final away from completing Scottish football’s first ever back-to-back trebles having scooped up the last five major domestic honours available to them.
Ajer will be looking to play a part in the club’s trip to Hampden in just five days time. Having already won his first major titles in the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Premier League this season, for him to become a treble winner at the age of just 20 would stand him in good stead to kick on and have a successful career, whether it’s in Glasgow or not. For now, though, he’ll be focusing on the finishing the season strongly and carrying his for over to the 2018/19 season.
