According to the BBC, Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has attracted the interests of Everton, who are preparing to make an offer for the 21-year-old.
Whilst Tierney has 5 years remaining on his contract, and the Celtic hierarchy would prefer to keep him at the club, Everton are surely capable of making an offer big enough to test their resolve.
The Scottish left-back appears settled at Celtic Park, but the Bhoys will be lining up potential replacements in case Tierney does end up making a move this summer.
It could be one Kieran for another.
Gibbs was unfortunate to be relegated with West Brom last season, and is one of the few defenders in that side who emerged with any dignity.
Gibbs wasn’t able to maintain his Arsenal career for as long as he might have liked, and he was never able to establish himself in the England set-up, but he is of a higher level than the Championship.
West Brom, given their relegation, perhaps they would be willing to let Gibbs go at a cut price, and he would be a real coup for Celtic. He’s only rated at £7.2m by Transfermarkt these days, but the former Arsenal man would prove to be Celtic’s smartest signing in years.
