Celtic fans here in the Tavern are extremely delighted with how their season has panned out, as Brendan Rodgers has managed to secure silverware once again at Celtic Park.
Brendan Rodgers has worked wonders once again in the current campaign as Celtic remain on course for the treble, with many of our local residents already starting to celebrate. But, with Champions League football already secured for next season, the Welshman will be desperate to improve the Hoops’ track record in Europe after failing to make any headway in the current campaign.
However, Tom Rogic is still yet to confirm where his future lies as he enters the last year of his contract, with many of our local residents beginning to fear the worst. But, Celtic shouldn’t let this worry them too much, as there are plenty of players out there that can match up to the Australian’s ability.
Therefore, Celtic should look to sign these TWO players if Rogic leaves…
Southampton appear to be heading for the Championship as they remain in the relegation places, with Dusan Tadic possibly searching for a new club in the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, the 29-year-old can play anywhere across the midfield as a valuable player to have in your squad, and often pops up with a number of goals and assists as an attacking threat in the final third.
So, the Southampton man would be able to slot right into Rogic’s place in an attacking midfield role and could offer valuable experience in Europe, having featured in European competitions during his time at current club Southampton, FC Twente and Vojvodina.
Lee Tomlin has been called many names during his footballing career, but the word ‘magician’ suitably describes how he has performed so far this season. Indeed, the Englishman has been one of the star players in the Championship since moving on loan to Nottingham Forest in January, with goals and assists being ever-present in his game.
Encouragingly, it looks as if his parent club Cardiff City may look to offload him on a permanent deal if they manage to secure promotion to the Premier League. And, having seen how effective he has been in English football in the current campaign, Brendan Rodgers shouldn’t waste any time in bringing him to Celtic Park in the summer.
