Image: Is this proof Hearts have little chance of taking Hibs’ Scottish Cup crown at Easter Road?

While the Edinburgh derby proved to be a relatively drab affair, the Transfer Tavern has been full of jokes and jibes between the Hibernian and Heart of Midlothian supporters over the state of the Jambos’ pitch at Tynecastle.

For the Hibees, it was important the Scottish Cup wasn’t lost against their arch rivals at the first real hurdle, so taking Ian Cathro’s side back to the Leith San Siro will be a huge boost for the Cabbage and Ribs. While their first meeting was barely as exciting as the tie last term, Neil Lennon’s side will surely fancy their chances at Easter Road.

And why not?

The Hibees have a wonderful record against their city rivals in this competition when playing in their Leith home, stretching back FIFTY YEARS. Hibs hero Jason Cummings fired those in green and white through when the pair met last year and perhaps their 114-year wait for a Scottish Cup crown will be all worth it.

Two in a row?
