Rangers could see one of their players head south of the border this summer, as he looks to get regular football.
The goalkeeper is currently third choice behind Allan McGregor and Wes Foderingham and it was unlikely that he would get a lot of football at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard this summer.
It is believed that his manager has sanctioned a season-long loan move to Glanford Park and could complete the move in the imminent future.
The 25-year-old has not really had a great time in Glasgow following his arrival from Port Vale back in January 2017, having made just 11 appearances for the Light Blues in that time.
A move back to the English Football League will benefit Alnwick this season, as he is unlikely to have a chance to play for the Scottish Premiership outfit.
With McGregor and Foderingham already at the club, the £225k-rated goalkeeper, as per Transfermarkt, will have an extremely limited role at Ibrox.
However, he could play regular football with Scunthorpe as Matt Gilks is out injured until 2019 and could give his career a fresh start.
