Rangers haven’t been able to ensure consistency under Steven Gerrard in recent times, which has had a negative effect on their chances of securing silverware.
The Bluenoses failed to secure all three points against Kilmarnock last time out as they were held to a bore draw in front of home support at Ibrox.
Interestingly, Rangers will travel to St Mirren Park to face St Mirren in their next Scottish Premiership fixture. The Saints are currently struggling near the foot of the table, with major improvements needed if they are to trouble Rangers on in front of home support later on today.
With that in mind, Steven Gerrard must get his team selection right by selecting these TWO Rangers stars…
Kyle Lafferty has had to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench in recent times, with Gerrard opting to deploy one striker at the pinnacle of the attack in the form of Alfredo Morelos.
The Northern Ireland international has already shown that he can find the back of the net for Rangers this season, with four goals to his name.
So, with the Glasgow club struggling for quality in the final third against Kilmarnock last time out, it’s about time Gerrard started to put his trust in the experienced forward.
Ryan Jack has been one of the most consistent performers for Rangers in the current campaign, despite suffering with an injury for a period of time. But, he hasn’t quite been able to work his way back into Gerrard’s plans, with Andy Halliday impressing in the middle of midfield and at left-back.
So, with a struggling St Mirren side up next in the Scottish Premiership, perhaps the 26-year-old will get the chance to showcase his talents.
