Steven Gerrard has seen another one of his players decide to leave Rangers this summer in search of regular football.
The 26-year-old was thought to be surplus to requirements at Ibrox under Gerrard and had been told to find a new club should he want to get regular football.
Despite having joined Rangers back in 2016, he has struggled to make a real impact with the Scottish outfit and has only made 27 appearances for the club.
The Light Blues have already started life under Gerrard extremely well, having yet to taste defeat under the former Liverpool star, which included a victory against St. Mirren a couple of weeks ago.
A move to St. Mirren should help to get the right-back’s career back on track.
Hodson has had a stop-start time since joining Rangers from Milton Keynes Dons and made just seven appearances last season for the Gers.
The Northern Ireland international had not featured for the Light Blues this season and would have always found it difficult to break into the first-team with the likes of James Tavernier and Jon Flanagan ahead of him in the ranks.
