Rangers fans here in the Tavern are high in spirits after their beloved Gers managed to pull off back-to-back wins in the Florida Cup.
Indeed, these are promising signs for Graeme Murty’s men after beating two of Brazil’s most prominent sides in a cup competition, something that could potentially shape the rest of their season.
Although, with all the signings being made this transfer window in Glasgow, there’s going to be some movement. As according to reports in the Scottish Sun, Rangers defender Danny Wilson could be facing an Ibrox exit, after attracting strong interest from the MLS.
Indeed, as a key man in the heart of Rangers’ defence, he’s a player that Graeme Murty has grown to admire with the Englishman willing to do everything he possibly can to keep him at the club.
Although, they did receive a boost last week as the centre-back declared his desire to stay at the club, with the 26-year-old hoping a new contract will be sorted out sooner rather than later as he runs down the remaining six months.
But it’s safe to say that Wilson’s aims are set firmly on overcoming the challenge of a side one place above them tonight, as they welcome Aberdeen to Ibrox in what will be a season-defining match.
However, Rangers will be hoping that money and conditions won’t persuade Wilson to move abroad, as MLS sides are reportedly offering some quite lucrative terms in an attempt to draw him away from Scotland.
Danny Wilson has been the spearhead of Rangers’ defensive quality over the course of the season, and losing the defender could quite possibly condemn them to a disappointing second half of the season.
Nevertheless, a leader and valuable member of their squad that lives and breathes for the Glasgow side.
