Rangers take on Hibernian in the SPL at Ibrox later today as they continue to battle it out with rivals Celtic for the top spot in Scottish football’s top flight.
And ahead of the game, Hibernian defender Darren McGregor has come out to praise the home side’s danger man Alfredo Morelos after initially having his doubts about the Colombian.
“Morelos has come into his own in the last year and a half,” McGregor was quoted saying by the Daily Record prior to his club’s trip to Ibrox.
“I remember him being talked of as a £10m player and I was thinking, ‘Is he really?’ But now justifiably he’s potentially worth more. His work ethic, his goalscoring record speaks for itself.”
Looking at how Morelos has performed this season, the former Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi man is definitely worth £10m if not more — as alluded to by McGregor.
Playing in Scotland, the forward may not be valued as high by a lot of clubs outside of the country.
However, as seen in the last few years with the likes of former Celtic duo Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama, there are individuals in the SPL with potential with Morelos being just one of them.
And at 22 years of age, the now Colombia international has plenty of time to get even better.
