Moussa Dembele on Lazio’s radar

Moussa Dembele on Lazio’s radar

The transfer window remains open in Scotland and across Europe, which could spell bad news for Celtic this summer.

Brendan Rodgers will be pleased that he has not lost any of his star players to teams south of the border, however, it appears one man is on the radar of a European heavyweight.

According to a report by CalcioMercato, SS Lazio considering a move for Moussa Dembele, as they look to add a goalscorer to their side.

It is believed the Serie A outfit consider the Frenchman as a possible successor to Felipe Caicedo, with the Ecuador international expected to depart from Rome before the end of the month.

The 22-year-old appears to have fallen out of favour with the first-team following the arrival of Odsonne Edouard, however, it would not have been thought that Dembele would be available for a transfer this summer.

The Verdict:

Celtic will want to keep hold of Dembele this summer as they will feel he is still vital to their plans.

The 22-year-old lit up the Scottish Premiership in his first season, which led to a number of Europe’s top clubs being credited with an interest, however, those links have started to cool down.

The striker still has two years left on his current contract, so it would be a surprise if the Bhoys did let him go before the end of August.
