Rangers will be desperate to pile the pressure on Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title, with the Old Firm victory boosting their confidence massively.
The Bluenoses have been one of the form teams in Scotland in recent times, but they could definitely do with making use of the January transfer window to really boost their title credentials.
However, January will be a decisive month for Rangers, with the transfer window now here. Indeed, missing out on valuable additions could prove costly in the long run, and other negative factors could come into play.
With that in mind, here is the nightmare January for Rangers…
ALFREDO MORELOS LEAVES IBROX
Alfredo Morelos has been the standout performer for Rangers in all competitions this season, with 20 goals and 10 assists to his name at this moment in time.
However, the South American attracted interest from China towards the start of last year and Gerrard is expecting bids to filter in for Morelos at some point this month.
So, supporters could soon fear for their side’s future as losing the forward could bring their title pursuit to a halt, with it being almost impossible to find a direct replacement.
MISS OUT ON POTENTIAL KEY ADDITIONS
The Bluenoses currently find themselves in a promising position but they could definitely do with strengthening in a number of different areas if they are to keep up with Celtic.
Indeed, Gerrard needs to bring in a full-back, a central midfielder, another attacker and potentially even a central defender, so it’s vital that supporters witness a number of signings at Ibrox this month.
Although, if the Bluenoses fail to make the correct changes they could face the consequences in the title race, with Celtic inevitably looking to bring in a number of players to strengthen their bid.
