Nikola Katic posts birthday photo on Instagram in Rangers shirt

Rangers have been enjoying life under Steven Gerrard since he joined the Light Blues in the summer.

Things have looked considerably better for the Ibrox outfit since he has been in charge, as he has managed to get the club some impressive results and has helped take them into the group stages of the Europa League – something Pedro Caixinha failed miserably to do.

Their Scottish Premiership league form has been sketchy at times, although the 3-1 win against leaders Heart of Midlothian in their last outing would have been extremely satisfying, especially on the back of a great win against Rapid Wien by the same score.

The additions he made in the summer has largely helped the Light Blues to turn things around and one man will have only endeared himself to the fans that bit more after a solid start to life in Glasgow.

Nikola Katic was celebrating his 22nd birthday on Wednesday and he took to Instagram to post a photo of him in his Rangers shirt and pointing to the club’s crest.

Some players will generally post a photo of them in “everyday-life” clothes and thank everyone for their wishes, however, he made sure to make his about the Light Blues, including to try and get “three points in every game”.

The Verdict:

Rangers fans will have been delighted to have seen Katic post a photo to celebrate his birthday with him in their shirt.

The player would appear to have the club at heart and that will only resonate with the club’s faithful that much more, especially given that many players would post updates about their birthday’s without their current club in mind.

Katic will now be looking to work hard to get back to fitness after picking up an unspecified injury on international duty and will want to get himself back into Gerrard’s first-team, having seen Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson be preferred in recent matches.
