Rangers supporters have been getting pretty restless in the Transfer Tavern this week as their side’s lengthy search for a new manager has been compounded by a desperately disappointing 2-0 defeat to Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
Pedro Caixinha was relieved of his duties as Gers boss back on October 26 and since then former Reading and Southampton defender Graeme Murty has overseen matters on a temporary basis, leading the team to two wins from his first two games in charge. However, his side were unable to make it three in a row as second half goals from David Templeton and Darren Lyon secured a deserved 2-0 win for Martin Canning’s Hamilton at Ibrox on Saturday, a result which saw fourth place Rangers fall nine points adrift of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.
Thus, there have been many deflated Gers fans in the Tavern this week, many of whom are getting increasingly annoyed at the length of time it is taking their club to appoint a new manager.
The 52-year-old took over the Socceroos back in 2013 and helped lead them to the 2018 World Cup earlier this month, as they got the better of Honduras 3-1 in a play-off to book their spot in Russia next summer.
However, Postecoglou has decided to bring his four-year stint in charge of the national team to a close, which could well open the door for a return to club management with Rangers, what with the man himself reportedly expressing an interest in the job.
And news of Postecoglou’s resignation has stimulated quite an emphatic response from Gers fans on Twitter…
No, no, no please god no

Good manager, but he quit Oz for a reason, he wants/needs a break

If he’s feeling stress of Australian job. He’s not up to the Rangers job. He ain’t seen nothing compared to the scrutiny he would be under at Rangers.
