Last night, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers continued their good run when they advanced past NK Osijek in their Europa League second round qualifier last night. Nikola Katic scored at one end for the Gers before Osijek pulled one back late on as the Gers advanced past their Croatian opponents 2-1 on aggregate.

The 2-1 aggregate victory means that Stevie G only has one more qualifying round standing between him and the Europa League group stages. The club will face Slovenian outfit, NK Maribor in the third round qualifier after they advanced past Chikhura Sachkhere 2-0 last night, giving them a 2-0 aggregate win. The games against Maribor will be played on the 9th and the 16th of August and the Gers are buzzing.
Steven Gerrard’s next game in the dugout comes sooner than Maribor, though, as the Bluenoses make the trip from Glasgow to Aberdeen to take on The Dandies in their Scottish Premier League opener. The fans will be buzzing for this one, as Aberdeen aim to challenge alongside Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League this season and the opening fixture at Pittodrie on Sunday will provide a good insight into the strength of both sides, seeing as Rangers now have Gerrard and Aberdeen have lost star striker, Adam Rooney to Salford City.

There is so much optimism around Ibrox at the moment and the fans will be desperate to get into their next fixture as soon as possible.
