Celtic fans here in the Tavern will be praying that their side can secure another treble, as they managed to do so this season by beating Motherwell in the Scottish Cup final.
Brendan Rodgers has been magnificent since taking over at Celtic back in 2016, as the Hoops have secured the double treble and look like obtaining even more trophies in years to come. But, with Steven Gerrard now looking to challenge Rodgers’ side in the next campaign, perhaps the Celtic boss will need to dip into the transfer market.
Celtic’s captain Scott Brown won a number of player of the year awards following this season, but he is slowly coming towards the end of his career at the age of 32. So, Rodgers may look to find him the perfect midfield partner this summer to really get the best out of him, as this could be the difference between success and failure next season.
So without further ado, Celtic should sign this player to bring the best out of Scott Brown..
John McGinn was impressive for current club Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership this season, so a move to champions Celtic would be just reward for his efforts. Indeed, this would be a hard move to turn down for any player in the Scottish top-flight, as silverware and success will be guaranteed if he decides to make the move to Celtic.
The 23-year-old would be the perfect partner for Scott Brown and would add further options to Brendan Rodgers’ midfield. Of course, with Brown preferring to sit back and snuff out any oncoming attacks from the opposition, McGinn would be able to compliment his game perfectly by buzzing around the middle of midfield and turning defence into attack.
Most importantly, the Hibernian midfielder has already proven that he can score goals and provide assists for his teammates, which is something that Scott Brown has never really excelled at throughout his career, so he will offer a different dimension going forward.
