Rangers fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for success and silverware in the next campaign, as they failed to compete with bitter rivals Celtic throughout this season.
Many of our local residents were anxious about Steven Gerrard becoming the club’s new manager, as his only previous managerial experience is at youth level. Although, having seen who the Bluenoses have already been linked with so far this summer, supporters are starting to warm to the Liverpool legend as he may be able to take them places.
One of Rangers’ issues this season was their midfield, as the likes of Andy Halliday, Jordan Rossiter, Sean Goss, Jason Holt and Greg Docherty either struggled with consistency or injury.
So, Gerrard will be keen to find Graham Dorrans the perfect partner in the middle of midfield, as the former Norwich City man played a huge part in their campaign once he returned from injury.
With that in mind, Rangers should sign this player to bring the best out of Graham Dorrans…
The 36-year-old left Norwich City at the end of this season after 10 years at Carrow Road, which is ideal for Steven Gerrard as he is the kind of player that the Rangers boss would love to have at Ibrox.
Wes Hoolahan and Graham Dorrans formed a successful midfield partnership during their Norwich City days, so a reunion may be on the cards this summer if Rangers can sort out a deal for the out of contract midfielder.
Both men used to feed off each other’s service back in the day as they often provided goals for one another, so the Rangers midfield could go up another level next season if the move takes place. Hoolahan can also provide a wealth of experience after years of Championship and Premier League football, which would definitely help players like Greg Docherty progress.
