Rangers have managed to secure a couple of dominant results after suffering defeat against Celtic in the Old Firm clash at Parkhead, which has helped cement their position in the European places.
The Light Blues surely must already have their sights set on strengthening in the summer transfer window with silverware no longer an option in the current campaign.
According to the Daily Record, Rangers are eyeing a move for Hearts’ John Souttar.
Indeed, the 22-year-old has made a name for himself in the current campaign and he deserves to make the step up, so here are the potential consequences of the Light Blues signing him…
STEVEN GERRARD SECURES JOE WORRALL REPLACEMENT
According to Football Insider, Rangers are not planning to make Joe Worrall’s loan move from Nottingham Forest a permanent one in the summer transfer window.
So, the Light Blues could bag themselves a replacement in the form of John Souttar as he’s a young, determined central defender who has all the ingredients to become a star. His tackling, strength and aerial ability has helped Hearts enjoy plenty of success this season, so he could be a real asset for Rangers.
NICOLA KATIC BENCHED
Nicola Katic has had to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench at times as Steven Gerrard has opted to go with Connor Goldson and Joe Worrall at the heart of the defence.
And, Souttar joining could mean that the Croatian is benched next season as the Hearts man is too talented to be wasting away on the sidelines, so Gerrard would surely making him one of his starting central defenders.
