It is fair to say that the Gers in the Transfer Tavern are far from happy with the state of their football club right now…
With the managerial situation at Ibrox remaining inconclusive the Rangers supporters propping up the bar here retain every right to feel frustrated with their current situation. Despite speculation linking a whole host of names with the vacant managerial position, Graeme Murty remains in the hot-seat on a temporary basis.
To add insult to injury, Rangers have now lost their last two Scottish Premier League fixtures on the bounce against Hamilton and Dundee and fallen 9 points behind league-leaders Celtic in the process who also have a game in hand.
One minor silver lining for the Rangers suppporters is the latest result for their youth squad, who managed to record an impressive 3-2 victory over Portuguese giants Benfica earlier today.
And the official Twitter page of the Rangers academy confirmed the result this afternoon.
FT: Benfica 2-3 Rangers (Dallas 30′ 36′ Atakayi 81′)

Plenty of the Rangers supporters have taken the opportunity to mock the shortcomings of the first-team players and suggest that some of the youth talent should be promoted to Murty’s squad for their upcoming fixtures.
Meanwhile, others were simply keen to heap praise on the achievement of their youth squad against a very prestigious European club.
Here’s what the fans had to say in response to the result…
Well done lads that’s a fantastic result against a great academy team

Great result and absolutely justifies why we’re taking a different approach with the Dev squad.
